The Massachusetts Association of Older Americans in partnership with Wider Opportunities for Women are looking for LGBT persons age 50 and above living in the Boston area to participate in a discussion on Marriage Equality and Economic Security of LGBT older adults.
WOW developed the Elder Economic Security Initiative to enable policy makers, aging advocates and others to develop policies and programs to help elders age in place with dignity while promoting their economic security. A key component of the initiative is the Elder Economic Security Standard™ Index (Elder Index), developed by the Gerontology Institute at UMASS-Boston. The Index is a measure of well-being that determines the income needed by older adults to meet their basic needs.
We also want to know how marriage equality in the state of Massachusetts has impacted your financial stability, and whether or not it has an effect on your ability to plan and save for your future.
Sessions will be held: October 9th at 5:45pm and October 10th at 10:30 am
19 Temple Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02111
